Well, it's been a few days of happiness and sadness. The house sale is still not finalised but we have decided that we are going anyway. We have a rental apartment waiting for us in Katy, Texas from 29th November and rented furniture being delivered the same day.
Final meeting with our lovely realtor this morning ( Lily Judd )who has worked so hard on this sale, and then we set off for Santa Monica.
So the last few days have been busy. The furniture has been packed up and gone into storage (didn't I write that sentence a couple of years ago??), we have said goodbye to the friends we have made here and I have had some amazing 'last' meals with them. Always food involved with Americans - wonder why we emigrated? He he
We are staying at the moment in the Quality Inn in Temecula. Cheap but really very good value. Free breakfast and excellent service. Very basic but really just ideal for the moment.
Had a wonderful evening with our friends last night - good food, good wine and good company. What more could you ask? I have received so many good wishes, cards and gifts. People are so, so kind. So later this morning we set off on our adventure......watch this space.
